Procedure for the development of a classic, static website The traditional waterfall model is characterised by the fact that the individual phases are strictly separated from each other. In most cases, the conception is followed by the design phase and then the development phase. The designer creates a complete website layout and passes it on to the developer, who then realises it technically and, after completion, hands it over to the client This development process, which is kept simple, is derived from the goal of transferring the created layout to the web in the best possible way. If one disregards the possibilities for interaction, the website is a static entity on a par with graphic design. For websites implemented on the basis of a rigid design, this model works flawlessly. However, this linear approach of the waterfall model no longer works for responsive design.
- Planning phase: collecting ideas and analysing them; making sketches.
- Design phase: Layout creation.
- Development phase: Technical implementation of the created layouts.
- Test phase: Testing of all functions with subsequent troubleshooting.
